The Talented 10th Project is an educational program functioning under the Georgia based organization P3Legacy. The overall mission is to increase the college enrollment of students of color and to encourage them to attend and graduate from an (Historically Black College or University) HBCU and to achieve their professional goals. “The Talented 10th Project” helps to breakdown the college enrollment processes by assisting through the completion of applications, financial aid documents as well as scholarship information. “The Talented 10th Project” empowers and supports dedicated mentors who wish to help students reach their full potential through education and beyond. The organizations match students from low-income communities to these mentors. Students work with their mentor one-on-one, both in person as well as online, to develop a strong relationship, encourage college interest, and also navigate the application process. The mentor-mentee relationship starts during the mentee’s Senior year of high school into their first year after post-college graduation. Upon two years of post-college graduation, the mentee has an option to become a mentor of “The Talented 10th Project.”
Through P3Legacy the Talented 10th Project” not only assist young scholars in the pursuit of finding the best college for them but also instill life-long skills such as critical and strategic thinking, great decision-making, knowledge of self, time management and a guide to self-actualization.
